Zarin tackles Firecracker 100 and Bill Emig Memorial at Lernerville
Logan Zarin returned to action on Saturday at Lernerville Speedway, taking on double-duty during the rain-shortened 19th annual Firecracker 100 weekend.
With persistent rainfall throughout the three-day span forcing officials to condense the event into a single-day program, Zarin competed with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in his NAPA Racing No. 1Z Super Late Model. After gaining a position to finish sixth in his heat race, he advanced to a B-Main for one final shot at the $50,000-to-win A-Main. Needing a runner-up finish to transfer, Zarin came up just one spot short with a third-place result.
In the Anarchy Kustoms No. 33X Crate Late Model, Zarin also took part in the RUSH Crate Late Model Series-sanctioned Bill Emig Memorial. A third-place heat race finish earned him a starting spot in the $20,000-to-win main event, but his run ended prematurely with a lap-38 retirement.
