Logan Zarin scores sixth-place finish in North/South prelim
Hookstown, Pennsylvania’s Logan Zarin made the five-hour trip to Kentucky’s Florence Speedway over the weekend to take on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series in the 43rd annual Sunoco North/South 100 presented by Lucas Oil.
With results from twin preliminaries on Thursday and Friday setting the stage for Saturday’s heat races, Zarin showed steady improvement, following up an 11th-place finish on Thursday with a ninth-to-sixth run in Friday’s 25-lap prelim.
On Saturday, Zarin slipped to fifth in his heat before recording a fourth-place finish in his B-Main, ending his bid for a spot in the $75,000-to-win North/South 100. He went on to compete in the non-qualifiers’ race, where he crossed the line in fifth.
